Sólo por mencionar algunos de los cargos que ocupó,
quisiera resaltar los siguientes: Jefe del Servicio de
Neurocirugía entre 1.979 y 1.983, Jefe del Departamento
Quirúrgico, Jefe de la Unidad Quirúrgica, Director del
Hospital de San José por más de ocho años, dieciséis años
como Miembro del Comité de Dirección, Miembro de
Número desde el año 1.990, Miembro de la Junta Directiva
y del Consejo de Gobierno de la Fundación Hospital Infantil
Universitario de San José, desde sus inicios en 2006 hasta
la fecha. Profesor Titular de Neurocirugía de la Fundación
Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud, Auditor de Gestión
entre los años 2004 a 2010 y Secretario General de la
misma desde 2012 hasta el 4 de mayo del 2022 cuando
lamentablemente fallece.
Fue reconocido por los múltiples aportes a su especialidad
y miembro fundador de la Asociación Colombiana de
Neurocirugía, autor de un sinnúmero de artículos, trabajos
cientícos y colaboraciones en textos de neurología y
neurocirugía.
Quisiera resaltar el inmenso orgullo y amor que
sentía por su familia, conformada por su esposa Denyse
Verswyvel y sus tres hijos, Juan Manuel, Alberto y María
Inés Palacios Verswyvel y nietos.
Siempre será recordado con cariño por sus alumnos,
colegas, familiares y amigos. Un sentido adiós y buen
viaje querido profesor Manuel Roberto Palacios, nuestra
perenne gratitud.
