La FUCS, siguiendo la visión y la losofía de los
Fundadores de la Sociedad de Cirugía de Bogotá-Hospital
de San José, ha estructurado su futuro y ese ordenamiento
especíco constituye una de las razones para explicar su
crecimiento. A través de la historia, la educación ha sido
uno de los pilares sustantivos para salir del subdesarrollo,
por lo que eles a nuestra tradición y a lo enunciado en la
visión, el objetivo es que en el año 2030 seamos reconocidos
nacional e internacionalmente como una institución del
más alto prestigio en la formación de estudiantes, con la
seguridad de que impactaremos en forma positiva en el
desarrollo de nuestro país.
Queremos ser partícipes activos en la construcción de
una sociedad más justa, en donde los egresados sean actores
francos del desarrollo, no solo por sus conocimientos,
sino por el convencimiento de que el privilegio de haber
alcanzado sus ideales profesionales, deba materializarse
y proyectarse a los demás, es decir haciendo verdadera
proyección social. Es así como a comienzos de este siglo
solo contábamos con cuatro programas de pregrado y ahora
son 11, de los cuales medicina, enfermería, instrumentación
quirúrgica y citohistología tienen acreditación de alta
calidad.
Hemos crecido en las especializaciones en las distintas
facultades, así como en la formación de técnicos y tecnólogos.
Resultado de este esfuerzo mancomunado ha sido la
acreditación institucional que se nos conrió en el año 2019,
y en 2023 la acreditación internacional de ARCUSUR a los
programas de medicina y enfermería.
La FUCS convencida de que la investigación es parte
fundamental en los procesos formativos y el desarrollo del
conocimiento, ha apoyado de manera incondicional estos
procesos con los semilleros de investigadores, el Instituto de
Investigaciones, el Instituto de Ciencias Básicas y en general
con la productividad del estamento docente. Fe de ello son
las publicaciones, no solo de textos sino de artículos en
diferentes revistas de alto impacto, así como la clasicación
de los docentes en el CNA.
Conscientes de la responsabilidad social, hemos abierto
las puertas para que a través de los programas denominados
Jóvenes a la U y La U en tu Colegio, con el apoyo de la
Alcaldía Distrital, más de 350 aspirantes en condición
de vulnerabilidad hoy tienen acceso a varios de nuestros
programas.
El crecimiento de la FUCS continúa y es así como están en
proceso de construcción los programas de terapia respiratoria
