        Introduction: despite hepatitis A virus (HAV) exhibits hepatotropism, extrahepatic conditions, such as cholecystopathy, have been described in the literature. Case presentation: 34-year-old female patient diagnosed with gangrenous acalculous cholecystitis due to Viral Hepatitis A. Discussion: although the initial evaluation categorized them as two distinct conditions, a relationship among them was recognized. An interdisciplinary clinical approach was used to allow the best outcomes for the patient.
