Molecular techniques for the identification and typing of human papillomavirus
Técnicas moleculares para la identificación y tipificación del virus del papiloma humano
Show authors biography
The use of molecular identification techniques such as those analyzed in this article (polymerase chain reaction, hybrid capture technique, southern dot and dot blot) allows to classify and typify the human papilloma virus present, to confirm the association of some cervical lesions with viral types of high and low grade, significantly orienting a more accurate diagnosis compared to other methods of detection or routine screening. However, the implementation of these techniques as a routine paraclinical method would be difficult for patients due to its high cost.
