Show authors biography
We present 16 women with cervical cancer (CCU) stage IB1, who underwent modified radical type Wertein hysterectomy plus bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy as a first line treatment, evaluated in the gynecological oncology service of the Hospital San José de Bogotá (HSJ) between 2000 and 2005. The morbidity of the procedure, defined as the medical or surgical complications derived from it, was determined and correlated with the variables age, medical history, histological type, transoperative bleeding, duration of the procedure, hospital stay, need of complementary treatment, follow-up and relapse.
