Strongyloidiasis is a frequent parasitic infection in tropical and subtropical areas. It is usually asymptomatic and limited to the intestine. However, cases of disseminated and potentially fatal extraintestinal infection can occur in immunocompromised patients. We present the case of a patient diagnosed with strongyloidiosis using a bronchoalveolar lavage sample processed with cytospin and conventional cytology methods.
