Abstract

The work was carried out with the aim of investigating about the factors that intervene in the student desertion, in the Faculty of Nursing of the University Foundation of Health Sciences (FUCS) and to look for possible alternatives of solution that can be offered to the institution in order to captivate the students within it. A structured instrument was applied to 20 dropouts who had left the faculty for reasons other than the academic level (former students with academic averages lower than those pre-established by the institution and those who did not have the opportunity to level subjects, as it was not included in the regulations ), which are recognized factors of student desertion, so it is considered essential to delve into this topic.
