Abstract

The purpose of this phenomenological research is to describe the feelings perceived by pregnant women with prior knowledge that their child will be born with a congenital anomaly, to facilitate a future and effective nursing intervention. A semi-structured interview was applied to seven pregnant women attended in a third level institution and then a feedback workshop was held. In this way, it was found that the feelings of greatest appearance were sadness and fear. It was concluded that there must be an interdisciplinary team that involves the family and provides adequate support to facilitate the grieving process of these pregnant mothers.
