Abstract

It is a descriptive study carried out to know the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with venous thrombosis and cerebral venous sinuses who were hospitalized, studied and managed in the neurology service of the Hospital de San José. The clinical histories of neurology discharges and the statistical archives of the last three years were reviewed. A description of the signs and symptoms presented was made, the presence or absence of risk factors was evaluated, all cases were confirmed with an imaging study and the factors that influenced the prognosis were established. These results are compared with what is described in the world and national literature. Abbreviations: TVSC, thrombosis of veins and cerebral sinuses; CMR, brain magnetic resonance; CT scan, axial tomography of the skull; AR, angioresonance; CSF, cerebrospinal fluid.
