Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the importance of the quantification of globular dysmorphism in the urinary sediment of patients with a histological study of renal biopsy, as a diagnostic aid for nephropathies, as well as to determine the frequency of these alterations and to compare the findings of the sediment. urinary with the biopsy. The samples were obtained from ten patients over 18 years of age who attended the renal unit of the Hospital of San José, and who underwent quantification of dysmorphism before the biopsy. Of the ten patients analyzed, two had globular dysmorphism less than 50%, six between 51 and 80% and in two it was greater than 81%. It was observed that there may be a relationship between globular dysmorphism in urinary sediment and nephropathies, however, studies and better structured diagnostic tests are required, in order to expand the knowledge acquired on this subject.
