Abstract

The virtual sheets are presented as a new technique and tool in the interpretation of the CCV. This research project seeks to establish the existing agreement between the diagnosis made through LV and that made in LC. It was attended by four pathologists and two cytologists, who analyzed 98 sheets by the two methods. For the analysis of the LV, the kadiview computer program was designed, where the photodigital images of the most representative fields of each LC and the clinical data of the patient are located. The coefficient of agreement kappa for the general classification of negative and positive for neoplasia in the conventional diagnoses. virtual was 0.63, indicating a good match. The kappa coefficient obtained when analyzing the diagnostic categories within the positive for neoplasia, was 0.55, representing a moderate concordance. In addition, through a survey it was established that the kadiview program can become a very useful tool for diagnosis in LV due to its characteristics of presentation of photos and clinical data. All of the above allows to establish that VL can be an alternative method and very useful in the successful diagnosis of CCV, using a program such as kadiview.
