Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine if there are difficulties in the application of the Nursing Care Process (PAE) by students from the second to the eighth semester of the Faculty of Nursing of the University Foundation of Health Sciences, during the period between August and September 2000. To this end, a qualitative-quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out through the application of a structured questionnaire. The results showed that the nursing students present difficulties to apply the PAE because in spite of having the theoretical knowledge, it is not solid enough to put it into practice; In addition, the time devoted to the study of this process is insufficient, both on the part of the student and the School of Nursing, there is inconsistency between the level of knowledge of teachers and students are discouraged to apply the PAE.
