Abstract

The soft tissue vascular anomalies have been named in so many ways that they hinder diagnostic accuracy. The current classification system divides them into infantile hemangiomas and vascular malformations. The latter in turn are divided into high and low flow lesions. The diagnosis is based on the clinical findings supported by diagnostic images that clarify the morphology, extent and characteristics of the flow of the lesion. Doppler sonography of spectral color, as well as magnetic resonance with 3D angioresonance, are the non-invasive images currently used. A case of arteriovenous malformation studied in our institution is presented by spectral color Doppler and gadolinium angioresonance.
