Abstract

Higher education in Colombia is currently at a conjunctural point of major changes that will directly benefit students, teachers and society. Medical training is not alien to these changes and fortunately we are now considering a new model where the starting point is the student, which has allowed us to look for other strategies whose approach is that academic work should not be reduced to listening to the explanations of the teacher or do what he says. The action of today's teacher is more of a counselor and facilitator of knowledge, not a transmitter of it so that the student has an active attitude and works in the construction of their own knowledge, in such a way that they learn and understand the concepts acquired.
