Abstract

We present the case of a 20-month-old female patient who consulted the pediatric emergency department for sudden and progressive loss of strength of the left side of the body, associated with a convulsive episode, loss of consciousness of about 15 seconds, asthenia, adynamia, irritability and drowsiness. Denies craneoencephalic trauma. The presentation of this case and its subsequent study requires the review of the most frequent causes of convulsive symptoms in children, hemiplegic and hemiparetic syndromes, in order to focus a good diagnosis and design an adequate management plan focused on cerebral vascular malformations. or cerebelosas. Abbreviations: AICA, anterior and inferior cerebellar artery; PICA, posterior and inferior cerebellar artery.
