Abstract

The current context of the academic and administrative development of university faculties and programs represents an opportunity for self-evaluation and for formulating plans for continuous improvement through processes such as minimum performance requirements (qualified registration), national and international accreditation and reaccreditation. both national and international. Beyond obtaining the corresponding certification from the Ministry of National Education, promotes in the academic community the culture of self-evaluation for the purpose of continuous improvement and what decades ago was a "stormy wear", today becomes a style of life for university institutions, since looking, evaluating, transforming, improving and transcending is part of the growth and development of the community that makes up each higher education institution. That at least has been the look established by the University Foundation of Health Sciences. In this article we can see the path that the Nursing School has taken in the disciplinary, social, political and economic development of Colombian health, through the footprints generated by the research projects of the students who have studied the specializations. clinics as interdisciplinary. We consider important to present to the academic community the essence of the steps and paths traveled, taking into account that the Nursing Faculty of the Foundation is one of the twelve best in the country, which is supported by three important processes: one, in the accreditation granted by the Ministry of National Education; the second, in the position that occupies being among the top ten in the country due to the results obtained by our students in the Ecaes since the creation of these five years ago; and the third, the positioning and recognition by employers of public and private entities, extolling the clarity and professional quality both human and technical and scientific, seal of disciplinary and institutional guarantee. An analysis was made of the different theses presented by the graduates from 1997 to the first semester of 2008, in terms of name, subject addressed, area of ​​knowledge and methodologies used.
